project overview

This project involved SEO services for a well-established, large local company that has been in operation for over 100 years. With several offices spread across different locations, they are a significant player in their industry.

The client approached us after experiencing a noticeable decline in their search engine rankings following the launch of a new website. Unfortunately, during the development of the site, SEO best practices were overlooked, which led to a drop in their visibility online.

Our task was to rectify this by implementing a comprehensive SEO strategy to recover and improve their rankings.

the challenge

A 100-year-old regional business with multiple offices doesn’t need to convince anyone it’s legitimate. What it does need is to be findable when a new customer searches for what it does — and that’s where things had quietly broken.

When the client commissioned a new website, the build skipped some of the SEO foundations that had been carrying their rankings for years. The result was immediate: pages that used to appear in Google’s top results vanished. Searches that used to bring enquiries through the door went to competitors instead.

The brand reputation hadn’t changed. The digital visibility had collapsed. We were called in to fix it — and to make sure it didn’t happen again.

the approach

Every SEO recovery starts the same way: understand why things broke before deciding how to fix them. A full technical audit of the new site surfaced the issues quickly — the kind of problems that don’t show up in design reviews but matter enormously to Google.

Site speed was the first priority. A slow site loses visitors before they ever see the content, and Google treats it as a quality signal. We resolved the underlying performance issues and rebuilt the technical foundation the new site should have shipped with: clean URL structure, proper headings, fixed broken markup, accurate metadata, working schema. Then we worked through the on-page content systematically, restoring the SEO signals the launch had stripped out.

Throughout the six months we worked together, we reported in plain English — what we were doing, why, and what to expect next. No opaque dashboards. No jargon for the sake of it.

the result

Within six months, the site was back where it belonged — and then some. Targeted keywords were ranking higher than they had been before the rebuild. Organic traffic was up 146%. Page views up 433%. Bounce rates dropped as visitors found what they were looking for faster on a properly engineered site.

More importantly, the work isn’t fragile. The foundations are now in place to keep the site competitive as Google evolves — no more wondering if the next algorithm update will collapse the rankings again.

The lesson worth taking from this one: if you’re commissioning a new website and you already rank well, get SEO involved from day one. Retrofitting it after launch is recoverable — but it costs you traffic, time, and enquiries you don’t get back.
